Lindsay McNena (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta. She provides services to children, pre-teens, adolescents, and adults, and offers individual, family, and couples/relationship counselling. Lindsay has worked in the mental health sector for ten years, including working with adolescents in the care of Children’s Services, providing support to students and families in rural Alberta schools, advocating for mental health support and funding to a variety of stakeholders, and working in both a not-for-profit agency and a private practice.

Lindsay holds a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, as well as certificates in Child and Youth Behaviour Strategies and Addictions Counselling. She has also been trained in Gottman Level I and II which informs her work with couples, and Cognitive Processing Therapy which she uses with clients who have had traumatic experiences. Lindsay is also an approved provider for the Trans Affirming Network and the Trans Wellness Initiative.

Lindsay uses an eclectic approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Lindsay seeks to meet clients where they are at while respecting lived experiences, applying a trauma-informed lens, and recognizing how different intersectionalities contribute to the therapeutic experience and overall mental well-being. She believes we all have a huge capacity for resilience and learning and enjoys co-creating a successful therapeutic relationship with clients.

Lindsay also writes the weekly blog for the website!

In her downtime, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her partner and their dog Ophelia, attending all kinds of concerts, watching hockey (go Leafs!), crocheting, going to various Shakespeare in the Park festivals, and visiting family and friends in Ontario. She also enjoys getting out to the mountains, going kayaking, and checking out true crime documentaries or podcasts.
